Vitekeep is a private journal for your notes, memories, photos, videos, voice notes, the people in your life and your yearly events. This policy explains what information Vitekeep keeps, why, and the choices you have. It covers the Vitekeep app for Android and iOS and the web app at app.vitekeep.com.

The short version

• What you save in Vitekeep is yours. Only you can see it.
• We do not show ads, we do not sell or share your information, and we do not use tracking or analytics tools.
• You can download everything you saved, and you can delete your account and all of it at any time.

Information we keep

• Your account: your email address, the name you give, an optional profile photo, your language and your plan (Free or Premium). Your password is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; Vitekeep never sees or stores it.
• What you save: notes, memories (title, date, the place you type, your story and tags), photos, videos, voice notes and documents you add, the people you add (name, relationship, birthday, photo, notes) and your events.
• Payments: when you pay for Premium with mobile money (EVC Plus, Zaad, Sahal, eDahab or M-Pesa) outside Google Play, we keep the plan, the amount, the phone number you paid from and the transaction ID so we can confirm the payment. Purchases made through Google Play are handled by Google; we only receive what is needed to confirm your subscription.
• Technical data: our servers process your IP address and basic request information for each request so the service can work and be protected from abuse (for example rate limits). We count how much storage each account uses to apply plan limits.

Permissions on your phone

• Photos, videos and camera: only the files you choose, when you add them.
• Microphone: only while you record a voice note.
• Notifications: reminders for your events, created on your phone.
• Fingerprint or face, and PIN: the app lock is checked by your phone. Your PIN and fingerprint never leave your device.

How we use it

Only to run Vitekeep for you: to store and show your content on your devices, to keep your account secure, to apply your plan and confirm payments, and to answer you when you contact us. We do not use your content to advertise to you or to train any model.

Who processes it

• Google Firebase Authentication: sign-in (email and password).
• Cloudflare: our servers, database and file storage. Your files are private and are sent only to you, after we check that you are signed in.
• Google Play: payments for subscriptions bought in the Play Store version.

These companies process information only to provide their service to Vitekeep. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Every request is checked so that one account can never read another account's data, and stored files can only be opened by their owner. The optional app lock adds a PIN or fingerprint on your phone.

Keeping and deleting your information

• We keep your information while you have an account.
• Download your data: Settings → Download all my data gives you one ZIP file with everything you saved.
• Delete your account: Settings → Delete account. Your notes, memories, people, events, photos, videos, voice notes and payment records are removed from our servers straight away. Copies of the database (text only, not your files) are kept in private backups for up to 30 days and then erased. See how to delete your account, including without the app.

Children

Vitekeep is not made for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above. If the change is important we will also tell you in the app.
